The Gillett family and Grand Targhee Resort

Redtail is brought to you by the owners of Grand Targhee Resort, namely, George, Geordie, Alexander and Foster Gillett. Involved in communities and mountain resorts in a number of different locations, the Gillett Family is a strong proponent of development incorporating a focus on sensitivity to the environment.

Spearheading the effort on a local level is Geordie Gillett, a familiar face in town and on the mountain. As Managing Partner of Grand Targhee Resort, Geordie oversees the Resort and its planned expansion in the near future, along with a number of residential and commercial developments throughout the area.

Geordie and his family currently live in Victor, ID and are involved in the community on a multitude of levels. He is on the board of many Teton Valley community organizations; including Friends of the Teton River, Teton Valley Foundation, Teton Valley Hospital, Teton Basin Ice and Recreation, Driggs Urban Renewal Agency and Teton Area Advisory Forum. Geordie is a strong proponent of smart growth and protecting the valley's natural assets by assisting progress with an eye towards preserving the natural environment, both through active planning and the use of environmentally sensitive building operations.

Seeing the Teton Valley area as one of the "last best places," the Gillett family's vision for select residential communities with a close connection to the resort was realized in Redtail, the first of the Grand Targhee Resort communities. With an appealing and convenient location, and with that special character of unique mountain lifestyle that Geordie and his family have found within the valley, Redtail is a carefully realized dream. Redtail embodies the Gillett family's ideal of a development that is as sensitive of the natural environment and wildlife of the area, as it is in the placement and design of each structure within that community. By incorporating detailed planning and progressive Green building standards, Redtail will be a healthy and happy home for both the residents and the natural inhabitants of the neighborhood.
